FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – One Pee Dee college is keeping a close eye on the presidential election.
Folks at SiMT on the campus of Florence Darlington Tech are using social media to track trends among the candidates. The listening center at the school usually helps businesses with their social media marketing, but decided to throw its hat in the ring of presidential politics.
Lindsay Buchanan has been keeping an eye on things since the primaries started and and said its fascinating to watch the trends as the race unfolds.
“We’ve been tracking this since before the primaries,” Buchanan said. “So when there were a dozen or so republican candidates and several things going on with the democratic side we were able to follow and kind of watch as people dropped out we would see that represented in our figures online before it even happened.”
