MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A pedestrian died as a result of injuries from a traffic collision on Friday night.
Horry County Deputy Coroner, Darris Fowler, identified the victim as 69-year-old Betty Wiggins of Myrtle Beach. Fowler said Wiggins was crossing the highway near 805 Highway 17 South when she was struck by a vehicle and died at the scene from multiple trauma.
Captain Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police said it happened around 7:00 p.m. at 8th Avenue South and Kings Highway.
The collision is under investigation by officers within the Traffic Unit.
