A pedestrian was hit and killed in Marion County.
According to the SC Highway Patrol, it happened on Penderboro Road around 8:45 Tuesday night.
Troopers say the driver of a 1995 Nissan was driving west on Penderboro Road when he hit the pedestrian. The driver was wearing a seat belt, and was not hurt.
The pedestrian was taken to the Marion Hospital, where he or she later died.
The coroner will release the victim’s identity after the family is notified.
