A person died in a crash in Florence County near Johnsonville on Thursday night.
The crash happened at 9:40 pm on South Clay Field Road at Lake City Highway which is SC 341, according to the SC Highway Patrol website.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identifies the deceased as 43-year-old Bill Monroe Altman, of Johnsonville.
von Lutcken says Monroe walked into the roadway and was hit by a car traveling east on Highway 341.
The driver of the vehicle and both passengers were not injured in the crash.
The location of the crash is less than a mile west of Johnsonville.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Florence County Coroner’s office investigate the crash.
