On Tuesday, Gabriella Rivera, 22, was arrested and charged with one count of forgery with a value less than $10,000, according to a press release from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. A Pawleys Island merchant informed deputies of person who passed counterfeit $20 bills on Friday.

Rivera was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.

Deputies responded to Franks restaurant, located on Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, around 11:15 a.m. on Friday for a counterfeit $20 that was used to buy a drink, an incident report from the GCSO says. It was reported to deputies that on Thursday around 9:45 p.m., a woman with long, dark hair wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt sat down at the bar and ordered a drink.
