The suspect in Tuesday’s deadly shooting on Petigru Drive in Pawleys Island has been charged with murder.
A press release from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Damien Chevere Grate, of Pawleys Island, is charged with murder, felon in possession of a hand gun, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime following a deadly shooting at 915 Petigru Drive on Tuesday morning. Grate is being held in the Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Jason Lesley, the Public Information Officer for the GCSO, says Lamar Easterling, 24, of Pawleys Island, was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound and later died from his injuries.
