PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – After receiving a tip that a robbery was about to take place in Pawleys Island, deputies with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who was armed with a pellet gun Monday morning.

A press release from the sheriff’s office says deputies arrested a man armed with a pellet gun early Monday morning as he left a convenience store in Pawleys Island with stolen alcohol. Officers responded to the Hot Spot, located at 9332 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island, after receiving a call that a man was traveling to the store by taxi in order to commit a robbery.

Patrick Owen Rodgers II, 20, of Pawleys Island, was apprehended as he left the store at approximately 2:30 a.m., the release states. Charges of robbery, armed robbery while armed or allegedly armed with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon and minor in possession of beer or wine are pending.

There were no injuries reported in the incident. The suspect was transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
