SANTA FE (KRQE) – A Santa Fe paramedic is facing charges after police say he charged more than $11,000 on a dead patient’s debit card.

Police say 31-year-old Michael Harcharik stole the man’s card when he was dispatched to his home on March 25.

They say he then used it at places like Walmart and Auto Zone, even buying himself a $1,600 riding lawnmower.

Investigators say the dead man’s daughter went to close his bank account and found his debit card had been used several times after he died.
