FLORENCE, SC – Palmetto Amputee Support Group is hosting a free amputee awareness walk in front of the Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation Library (509 Dargan St.) in downtown Florence on Saturday, March 25. The goal of the walk is to raise awareness and to educate the community about people with limb loss. Additionally, the walk’s goal is to empower the participants and provide a support system along with an opportunity for interaction with amputees in the area.
The walk will consist of half mile and 1 mile markers, participants of every activity level are encouraged to participate. It will also include refreshments, interactive/educational booths from vendors, a K-9 show held by Florence County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), a fire truck display, and much more.
The walk will start at 10:00 am and registration will begin at 9:15 am.
