MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) – Damage from Hurricane Matthew has prompted officials at the Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach to close for the rest of the year.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported (http://bit.ly/2ecqduf) the damage from the storm will shut down “Hot Jersey Nights” as well as the coming “Christmas Wonderland” show.

A Ron White concert at the theatre at Broadway at the Beach was canceled Oct. 8 ahead of the storm.

Chief Executive Officer Jay Lodge said Monday that he hopes to resume shows in late winter or early spring.

Lodge said Matthew damaged the roof and exterior of the building and there is significant water damage inside the structure.

He says those who have bought tickets for shows this year are being notified about upcoming refunds.
