NORTH MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW)- Horry Electric Cooperative reports 4,700 power outages Thursday evening.

The power outage began around  8:47 p.m.

The electric company said lightning hit part of a substation and equipment has to be replaced. The process could take as long as two hours, according to a Facebook post by Horry Electric Cooperative.
