MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The New Beginnings organization helped over 500 people today with some basic necessities.

It was a part of the organization’s monthly grocery distribution at the Church of the Resurrection in Surfside Beach.

There they gave out groceries to those in need as well as free haircuts and assistance with social services.

Larry Nowak is the co-chair of the New Beginnings Ministry and says it feels good to help those in our community get back on their feet.

“I think one of the most misunderstood thing is that people think most of the people who come here are homeless or living on the edge,” said Nowak. “You’d be surprised about how many of these are just your neighbors that are just having a hard time making it work.”

New Beginnings holds it grocery distribution on the third Saturday of every month. For more information you can click here.
