KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC (WBTW) – A copper reproduction bust on Orville Wright was stolen from the Wright Brothers Monument in Kill Devil Hills.
According to the Wright Brothers National Memorial, the bust was stolen and its heavy granite base toppled over and damaged sometime over the weekend.
The bust was later found on Tuesday in the dunes at the Kill Devil Hills beach near Virginia Dare Trail.
National Park Service Rangers and local law enforcement officials are investigating this crime.
