HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – One person is dead following a crash in Horry County Monday evening.
South Carolina Highway Patrol LCpl. Matt Southern said it happened on Legends Road, just off US-501 near Carolina Forest.
Southern says a 2006 Cadillac was driving north on Legends Road when they went off the right side of the road, over corrected, went off the left side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned. Southern says the vehicle hit a tree.
The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to troopers on scene.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified him as 34-year-old James Mello, and said he died at the scene.
