MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) — One person is dead after an early morning crash in Horry County.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, it happened at the intersection of Maiden Lane and Duchess Court around 2:30 a.m.
SCHP says the driver of a 2003 GMC pick-up truck drove through the intersection and into a tree.
Medics took the driver to Grand Strand Medical Center, where he died, according to troopers. No one else was injured.
Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden identified the victim as 24-year-old Mason Sackett of Myrtle Beach.
SCHP is still investigating.
