MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A two car crash on Highway 17 Bypass closed all southbound lanes at Harrelson Boulevard on Saturday evening.

According to Lt. Jonathan Evans with Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue, the crash happened around 5:45 p.m., Saturday.  Evans adds that two vehicles were involved and four people were taken to the hospital.  Two of the four people were in serious condition Saturday evening.

According to Tamara Willard, Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner, Jonathon Pfaff, 26, of Myrtle Beach died in the crash.  Pfaff was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the crash also shut down one lane of northbound traffic.

South Carolina Department of Transportation tweeted out that the scene was clear just after 8:30 p.m.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating the crash.
