BENNETTESVILLE, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal accident on Academy Road Tuesday.
According to the SC HP website, the crash happened at 2:30 p.m. on Academy Road near Jesse Adams Road.
Lance Corporal Matt Southern with the SC Highway Patrol says a driver traveling south in a Honda on Academy road crossed the center line and collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction head on.
The driver of the Honda was not wearing a seat belt and died on the scene. The other driver, identified as a man from McColl, was flown to a Columbia hospital.
Officials have not yet released the name of the victim or an update on the condition of the injured driver.
SC Highway Patrol is investigating.
