One person is in custody and a manhunt continues for other suspects who fled police in Georgetown County on Friday. However deputies are maintaining a perimeter around the area, according to Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Jason Lesley.

“A bloodhound from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office flushed out a manhunt suspect, and he was taken into custody this afternoon,” according to a press release. “Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office deputies, SWAT team and K-9 unit continue searching for additional suspects who fled police earlier today and abandoned their car south of Georgetown near White Hall Road off U.S. 17.”

“Motorists in the area are advised to beware of the law enforcement activity and keep moving,” says another press release from the GCSO. “Others should avoid the area if possible. Residents should go inside and lock their doors.”

A post on the Georgetown Police Department’s Facebook page says officers “engaged in a pursuit of a vehicle stolen from Myrtle Beach Airport” around 12:30 p.m. on Friday. “The pursuit traveled south on Hwy 17 and ended when the vehicle was involved in a one car accident.”

According to the post, “three suspects ran from the vehicle” and officers, along with the GCSO, set up a perimeter in the area to search for the suspects. One suspect, Naquan Spann, is in custody.

Spann was booked around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, according to Georgetown County Detention Center booking records. He is charged with “FTC fraud with a value greater than $500 in a six month period, by acceptor of card.”

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the other suspects are asked to call 911, the Georgetown Police Department at 843-545-4300, or the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
