One man was taken to the hospital after an armed robbery at a the 701 Mini Mart & Grill in Loris, Wednesday.
According to a police report from Horry County Police, two men walked into the store, one going to the restroom, while the other walked around the store. Then two more men wearing masks and hoodies entered the store, one hit the cashier in the face before grabbing things.
The cashier opened the cash register for the suspects who then grabbed for the money and items behind the counter. One suspect took the cashier’s cell phone.
All four suspects then left the store.
After reviewing the surveillance video, officers noticed that the first man that walked into the store was looking around to make sure no one else was in the store. He then took out a cell phone and appeared to send a text shortly before the two masked men entered the store.
Using the “Find my Phone” app, the victim’s cell phone was located just down the road from the store, on the side of the road.
