LONGS, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in Longs Friday night.
Battalion Chief Brian VanAernem says one person was inside the home at 1400 Loop Circle at the time of the fire. Fire crews said there was heavy flames throughout the mobile home when they responded around 9 p.m.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick says Longs resident Jamey Earl Babson, 40, died while in the home.
Hendrick says an autopsy showed signs of smoke inhalation but haven’t confirmed it as the official cause-of-death until all other test results have been reviewed,
Horry County Fire Rescue and Horry County Police Department are still investigating the cause of the fire.
