One dead, two seriously injured after early morning Florence crash

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – One person is dead after a single car crash in Florence Tuesday morning.

Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on Douglas Street.  Collins said the driver of a 2010 Dodge Charger ran off the road and overturned.

Collins said three people were in the car at the time of the crash. A passenger in the car died in the crash.  Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the victim as Dalwayne Sylvester Rhodes, 28, of Florence. Rhodes died on scene. The driver and another passenger were sent to the hospital with injuries.

None of the victims were wearing seat belts, Collins said.

The crash remains under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
