CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a man died following an early morning crash in Conway.

The crash happened around 3:30 am Saturday, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

The Highway Patrol says the driver of a Nissan was traveling east on Highway 22, ran off right side of the road, up and embankment and overturned onto Hidden River Road.

The coroner identified the driver as 37-year-old James Bellamy of Longs. Bellamy was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with multiple traumatic injuries. He was pronounced dead at 6:32 am. The passenger was also taken to the hospital, no word on his or her injuries.
