CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina Electric & Gas and Conway Fire responded to a gas leak at Highway 378 and Racepath Avenue in Conway around 11:40 a.m. Friday morning.
According to a fireman on the scene, the gas leak happened while crews were tearing down a building.
The leak is near S.P. Floyd, Sr. Police Station building where crews destroyed a structure adjacent to the station. During the process, a gas line was ruptured, causing a steady leak.
There is no immediate danger, but drivers are asked to avoid the area as crews work to repair the gas line.
