SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police responded to a shooting incident at a home just before noon Tuesday on Glenns Bay Road.

According to Jonathan Martin with Horry County police, one victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident report says a construction worker flagged an officer down and told the officer a blue PT Cruiser had just pulled out of the parking lot of an apartment complex on Glenns Bay road and shots were fired as the car was leaving.

When the officer went to the parking lot, they found the victim bleeding and motioning for help. The victim says multiple men were at the residence and began shooting. The report also says the suspects stole money from the residence.

Martin says four men fled the scene of the shooting and were initially tracked to Deerfield Plantation where they crashed their car.

Officers had K9 tracking teams in the area. Surfside Beach Police and the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office were also called in to help with the search. The area was searched thoroughly but officers were unable to locate the suspects.

On Wednesday, Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County Police Department said officers will not resume the active search for the suspects. Denis says the investigation continues but no suspect names will be released at this time.
