A North Myrtle Beach man is behind bars after police say he sexually assaulted 3 young girls over the course of 6 months in 2014.

Bryan D. Furman, age 55, of Park Street is facing various sexual conduct charges with a minor, including a charge with a child under age 11, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

The incidents were first reported to North Myrtle Beach Police in mid-January 2015, but took place from Jan. 1, 2014 to July 1, 2014, police said in a report.  Furman was arrested and booked Monday afternoon.

The victims are now ages 15, 14 and 11 and the incidents allegedly took place at the suspect’s home, police said.

In one incident, the suspect in the case made 2 girls “play hide and seek in the dark naked” with the suspect then having sex with one of the girls, while making the other girl watch, police said.

The mother of the 3 girls called police in January after the eldest daughter came forward and accused the suspect in the incidents.

In the case of one girl, “Mr. Furman would make her drink alcoholic beverages prior to touching her in her genital areas over and under her garments and at times would penetrate using his fingers,” the girl told police, according to the police report.

“Eventually (the suspect) then told (the girl) to have sex with him and she stated ‘no’ several times but Mr. Furman proceeded to have intercourse with her anyway,” police said in the report.

The police report said that these incidents went on “for several years,” but the report indicates a 6 month period in 2014.

Furman is being held without bail on these various charges:

  • Sex/criminal sexual conduct with minor, 3rd degree-commit/attempt lewd act(victim under 16 and actor over 14 yrs.
  • Criminal sexual conduct w/minor (under 11)- first degree
  • Criminal sexual conduct with a minor 11 – 14 years of age 2nd degree
