The North Myrtle Beach Humane Society introduced community members to some of their animals in need of a home.
The Humane Society held a meet and greet with six of their dogs, and several cats inside Petco in North Myrtle Beach, with the hope of getting the animals adopted. They offered discounted adoption rates – 50% off for cats, and almost 60% off for dogs. The North Myrtle Beach Humane Society currently houses approximately 40 dogs and 50 cats at the shelter. Animal care technician Merrick Stalanker said, “I think getting animals out so they can be visually seen is important in letting people know we are here and we do have animals looking for homes.”
