Community members in North Myrtle Beach poured up a cup of coffee to help animals in need of a home.

The North Myrtle Beach Humane Society held a Pour for Paws fundraiser at Beach Dreams Market on 2nd Avenue North.

The Humane Society is currently working to build a new shelter. The organization has outgrown its current building, which is approximately 40 years old.

According to Board of Directors member Judy Blank, the City of North Myrtle Beach plans to grant the nonprofit land for the shelter. She estimated the new building will cost approximately $5 million.

“The bigger the facility, we’ll be able to handle even more animals than that. That’s our goal, to help as many animals as we possibly can find a home, find a forever home,” said Blank.

If you would like to support the North Myrtle Beach Humane Society, stop by the Beach Dream Market and pick up a package of their special, house made blend of coffee. The shop will donate a portion of the profits to the Humane Society.
