North Myrtle Beach golfers help woman escape house fire

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue works to learn what started an afternoon fire at a 2-story house.

Battalion Chief Dustin Overholser tells News13 firefighters were dispatched to 1505 24th Ave. S. just before 1 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, Overholser says heavy fire was coming from the back of the house.

While on scene, firefighters learned two golfers helped a woman out of the house. Overholser says two cats, however, are still unaccounted for.

Right now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The American Red Cross has been called to assist those living in the home.
