RALEIGH (From NCHP Press Release) — North Carolina state troopers responded to 10 deadly crashes over the July 4th holiday weekend, according to a press release Monday morning.
The holiday weekend officially began at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, and ended at 11:59 p.m., Sunday, July 5. Last year, the North Carolina Highway Patrol investigated seven fatal collisions and 257 injury collisions during the July 4th holiday period.
The closest crashes to the News13 viewing area that resulted in fatalities over the weekend include one crash in Hoke County and one in Pender County.
