CHATTANOOGA, TN — A school bus driver who pleaded guilty to aggravated statutory rape after an incident in 2015 will not spend another day behind bars for the crime.
According to WTVC, Alexander Rodriguez was initially sentenced to four years in prison for the crime, but that was suspended and he’ll have to undergo supervised sex offender probation for 10 years.
He will also have to wear a GPS ankle monitor during his probation.
The initial incident happened in March of 2015, after a Chattanooga high school student reported to police that Rodriguez forced her to perform oral sex on him.
Court documents state the student repeatedly told Rodriguez no, but he raped her anyway.
Rodriguez was fired from his job as a contracted bus driver with the Durham School Services shortly after he was arrested.
