NORTH MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) — North Myrtle Beach Police are looking for the driver of a dark-colored Ford Explorer or Exhibition that officers think was involved in a deadly hit-and-run late Thursday night.
It happened just before 11:00 p.m. on Robert Edge Parkway near the intersection with S.C. Highway 31.
Officers think the driver involved took off south on Highway 31 after he or she hit someone who was already in the road.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden says the pedestrian hit and killed by the vehicle is David Michael Palmer, 39, of North Myrtle Beach. Palmer died at Grand Strand Medical Center of injuries sustained in the collision, adds McSpadden.
