NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (Press Release) – Keith Williams of North Myrtle Beach has been hired as the City’s fire marshal. Williams replaces Les Williamson, who retired.
Prior to accepting his new position, Williams was a fire service employee for 28 years. His professional experience includes service as captain of the fire department in Eden, NC; assistant fire marshal with the Rockingham County fire marshal’s office in Wentworth, NC; fire inspector for Caswell County in Yanceyville, NC; and firefighter with the Shiloh fire department in Stoneville, NC.
Williams is familiar with North Myrtle Beach as both a former vacationer and a homeowner. He and his wife, Kim, reside in North Myrtle Beach.
“We’re excited to have Keith Williams on board,” said Fire Chief Tom Barstow. “He has the background and skills to succeed in the position of fire marshal, and, very importantly, he is a people person who naturally enjoys engaging with people in the community. That is important to the fire marshal’s role in the community. We welcome Keith and his family to North Myrtle Beach.”
