Nicole Abbott is not your everyday 45-year-old mother of three. The Florence native and Pee Dee CrossFit patron is one of 20 women worldwide set to compete in the 2018 CrossFit games which will begin on Wednesday in Madison, Wis.
Nicole started CrossFit in 2013 and at the time was not able to do a pull-up in the class, but is now entering her first CrossFit games as the number 1 ranked competitor in her age division (45-49) in the world out of over 11,000.
The CrossFit games are the equivalent of the Olympics for the sport and wil take place over five days in Wisconsin.
Along with her responsibilities to her family Nicole is a soccer coach, a morning CrossFit coach and has been training five times a week in preparation for the games.
