New events added to the Native Sons Salt Games line up

The third annual Salt Games presented by Native Sons is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th and Sunday May 31st, 2015 at the old Pavilion Site on Ocean Boulevard between 8^th and 9^th Avenue N. Events will be held Saturdayand Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Salt Games are open to the public and free to attend. Registration required for competitors.

The 2015 Salt Games has added new events including the Beach Bum 5k presented by Moe Moons, BLVD Blowout Skateboard Competition, The Beach Brawl Wrestling Tournament, Native Sons Juniors Beach Volleyball Tournament and Boardwalk Yoga sessions at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 30^th and 8:00 a.m. Sunday May 31^st.

The recurring events include The Ron Jon Pro/Am Surf Off, Surf Dreams Foundation Take A Kid Surfing Day, Crossfit Up Dog Summer Challenge, Paddleboard Races, Peaches Corner Hot Dog Eating Contest, The Ben & Jerry’s Kids Run, Coors Light Pro Beach Volley Tournament, Tug-O-War, Malibu Surf Bar’s Fitness Bikini Competition, and the Lifeguard Games featuring all lifeguards from six beach services battling each other in a relay race and one on one drills. The event will also include a corn hole competition, a hula-hoop competition, Surfrider half pipe, beer trailers and live entertainment, concluding with a free concert by Grammy Award wining artist Emerson Sunday afternoon. Proceeds from the event benefit the Grand Strand Surfrider Foundation.
