CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – JDog Junk Removal and Hauling is a new company along the Grand Strand owned and operated by veterans. Owner, David Kaiser, served our country as a Naval officer and flew aircrafts.
Kaiser served for over 20 years and is now using what he learned in the armed forces to give back in our community.
“Here’s a chance for me to make a living, help employ veterans, which by the way have some of the highest unemployment rates, and in turn, you know, help customers out,” said Kaiser. “It felt like a win-win for everybody.”
One of Kaiser’s employees, Solomon Gause, served in the U.S. Air Force for 16 years where he traveled to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran. He found JDog Junk Removal and Hauling on Craigslist and knew it would be a good fit for him.
“Basically the same goals in the military as it is here,” said Gause. “We help each other out, we respect each other, have integrity. Even when we go to a customer’s house we respect them and respect their property.”
Gause said when he got out of the military in 2013, it was difficult to find a job. However, he’s glad to have found this company because he enjoys working with other veterans.
Kaiser said everyone in the company has each other’s back. “If I can help these guys and gals to transition from making the military into a civilian life, I’m here for them,” he added.
Another unique aspect to the company is what they do after the junk is picked up.
“We re-purpose what we can and try to keep as much out of the landfill as possible,” said Gause. A lot of items are donated to the Eastern Carolina Homeless Organization and Kaiser said it’s great to know they’re helping out other veterans.
JDog Junk Removal and Hauling will have a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration on Thursday October 6, 2016 from 3:30-5:30pm at Applewood House of Pancakes off Highway 17 in Litchfield.
Marine Lt. Clebe McClary, a motivational speak and author, will speak at the celebration about his experience in combat.
