LEXINGTON, N.C. – The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a large drug bust at a mansion in Lexington.
The house is located off Sapona Ridge Country Club on Indian Wells Circle.
On Monday, investigators discovered 17 trash bags full of marijuana worth an estimated $828,000.
Investigators said the renters not only were growing marijuana but also stealing electricity.
That, in turn, caused a transmitter to blow which started a small fire in the woods. Investigators then also received a tip about the operation.
Two men were detained including Hong Nguyen and Haih Nguyen.
