Fayetteville Police officers responded to a single-vehicle crash just before 2 a.m. on Strickland Bridge Road near Century Circle.
The preliminary investigation has shown that the driver of a Toyota Scion, identified as Bruce Lee Guzman, 21, was traveling on Strickland Bridge Road towards Century Circle when the vehicle ran off the roadway.
The Scion slammed into a tree during the crash killing Anna Ha, age 20, of the 3000 block of Metthame Drive.
Guzman, the driver, and Kihan Kim, age 19, were not seriously injured.
Devon Hutton, a witness, lives near the crash and was at the scene just afterwards.
“When I found her (Anna Ha) and checked her pulse, she wasn’t gonna make it,” Hutton said. “One gentleman was heavily intoxicated, he didn’t know what was going on, but he was still running around to find his friend pinned in the vehicle and the gentleman that was driving was very emotional,” Hutton added.

Guzman has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, driving while impaired, and reckless driving with the willful disregard for the safety of others.
“We can’t do anything to replace it, please everybody keep these families in your prayers,” said Carey Davis.
Davis attends the same church with Guzman’s family.
“He’s always been positive, his dad helps him out, he’s in the Air Force, we’ve been keeping him in prayers,” Davis said.
Guzman’s bond is set at $3,000.
The crash is still under investigation.
