GARNER, NC – A 54-year-old woman was charged in connection with the embezzlement of what Garner police said was $800,000 from home owner associations.
Diana Kelly, of Clayton was arrested and charged with 25 counts of embezzlement, Garner police said.
Kelly worked as the owner and manager of Kornerstone Community Management, Inc. Kornerstone managed more than 25 area HOAs.
In August, Garner police met with residents as an investigation revealed hundreds of thousands of dollars was missing from home owners associations in Wake and Johnston counties.
On Tuesday, Garner police said $800,000 is believed to have been stolen.
Police said 25 victims had monetary loss.
Two search warrants were executed as part of the investigation. One at Kornerstone Management’s office and the other at a residence on Seven Oaks Drive in Clayton.
Kelly is currently in the Wake County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bond.
