SHALOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina teacher was arrested Saturday at a hotel where officials say she planned to meet up with a 13-year-old former student, reports CBS affiliate WNCN.

Kathleen Capitano, a 24-year-old Shalotte, North Carolina, middle school teacher, was put on administrative leave with pay effective Monday after she was charged with four counts of soliciting a child under the age of 15 by a computer.

Fairfax County officials said Capitano arrived at hotel in Herndon, Virginia on Saturday at around 1 p.m. to meet up with the 13-year-old boy to engage in sex, but police were waiting when she arrived. Officials say they met with the child’s parents prior to Capitano’s arrival.

Police say Capitano exposed her genitals to the child online on four occasions since early 2015.

During the initial investigation, officials determined that Capitano met the boy while she was a student teacher at Coates Elementary in Herndon in 2015. The case is still under investigation and more charges are possible.
