WILMINGTON, NC – A North Carolina school district’s proposal to ban skinny jean is getting lots of backlash from students and parents.

The new Hanover County School System is considering the change.

It not only makes skinny jeans against the dress code, but includes leggings and other tight pants, unless worn with a long top.

School board members say the goal was to prevent bullying, but some parents are taking to social media, accusing the school board of body shaming.
