Graham Co., N.C. – The Superintendent for Graham County Schools in NC notified students, faculty, and staff Wednesday that schools would be closed for Thursday and Friday in an effort to fight against spreading sickness.
According to Superintendent Angela Knight, who posted the notice on the county’s social network page as well, there has been a recent outbreak of flu, strep, and pneumonia.
As of Thursday, there will be no practices or games for sports teams. Also, the “RES Extravaganza” will be postponed until Monday, Dec. 19th, when school will resume normal operation.
Superintendent Knight urges parents, “Please do not send your child back to school unless they are fever-free (without medication) and vomit-free for 24 hours. Thank you!.”
