WAKE FOREST, N.C. – The man accused of killing his neighbors in Wake Forest last month following an ongoing dispute confessed to committing the murders, recently released documents show.
On March 25, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 5900 block of Clearsprings Drive in Wake Forest in reference to a shooting.
Jonathan Sander, 52, is charged with three counts of felony murder in the deaths of his neighbors, Sandy Mazzella, 47, and his wife, Stephenie Mazzella, 43, and Sandy Mazzella’s mother, Elaine Mazzella, 76, of Raleigh.
Sandy Mazzella filed a no contact order for stalking or non-consensual sexual conduct against Sander on Feb. 25. His father, Salvatore Mazzella, filed a similar order the following day.
“This information corroborates witness statements that were taken at the murder scene,” documents show.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for the Mazzella family.
Sander is being held in jail without bond.
