RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Morrisville man is behind bars and facing multiple child sex crime charges in connection with a case that dates back to 2018, according to an arrest warrant and jail records.

Ian Matthew Macpherson, 25, is charged with one count of felony statutory rape of a child and three counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child. He was arrested Thursday.

According to arrest warrants, Macpherson engaged in intercourse and other sexual acts with the victim. She was 15 years old or younger, at the time of the incidents, court documents show.

Warrants show the charges date back to a time period between May 1, 2018 and Aug. 1, 2018.

Macpherson is being held in the Wake County Detention Center under a $2 million secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon.
