LELAND, NC (WBTW) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office have taken two people into custody after reporting they were wanted for multiple counts of child abuse.

Alexander Austin Dean, 26, whose last known address is Sandy Hills Drive in Leland, was wanted on three counts of child abuse, according to Public Information Officer Emily Flax. In addition, deputies arrested Kellie Earle Hill, 24, with the same last known address, who was wanted on six counts of child abuse.

Flax says the abuse occurred between March 11 and April 13 and involved three children. Arrest warrants for the alleged child abusers state that Dean and Hill are both wanted for beating the three children to the point of leaving bruises across their backs, butts, legs, arms, and wrists. Hill is also accused of allowing Dean to beat the children, as she is noted as the caretaker of all children.

Dean and Hill were taken into custody Monday evening and will be booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility, Flax adds.
