AUGUSTA (WJBF) – Two women are behind bars in connection with a shooting at an Augusta restaurant.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened at Hooters Sunday evening at around 8:43 PM.
Investigators say the altercation happened in the foyer of the restaurant, involving multiple people, with at least one shot being fired.
One woman was shot in the leg. A second victim was found to have been shot in the knee. Investigators say both were injured by the same round. Officials say their injuries were not life-threatening.
Two women were arrested and charged in the incident.
28-year-old Lataisha Hill has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime.
26-year-old Aishah Shahiid is facing the same charges as Hill.
Several weapons were recovered at the scene.
