(WBTW) – It’s consistently taught that money cannot buy happiness, and, according to a study from Nature Human Behavior, the theory is true.

In an article from the journal researched and written by Andrew T. Jebb, Louis Tay, Ed Diener & Shigehiro Oishi, the richer we become, the less happy our lives…after a certain amount.

It’s not all bad news, as the report suggests those who have an annual income of about $95,000 are happiest. For the strongest emotional well-being, you’ll need a salary of $60,000 to $75,000.

The article notes that happiness levels fluctuate in different regions of the world, with the moment of wealth satisfaction occurring later in wealthier regions.

Findings from the journal were concluded using data from a Gallup World Poll that represented 1.7 million people from 164 countries around the globe. The article concludes that people will ultimately adapt their happiness level to their money situation, in addition to having their needs and wants met.
