DYERSBURG, Tenn. – A Tennessee man who won $2 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket says the money will not change him.
Timothy Seratt of Dyersburg told WREG-TV, “I might have a lot of money, but I’m still a redneck.”
Seratt said he has lived paycheck-to-paycheck his whole life, he has never flown in a plane, and he has never traveled farther north than Kentucky.
He said he does not have plans for all of the $1.3 million he will take home after taxes, and he still plans to work.
His immediate plans include paying off his house and his mom’s house and taking his two kids to Disney World.
He said he would also like to fly to Los Angeles to watch the Dodgers play.
Seratt paid $25 for the Mega Millionaire Jumbo Bucks ticket and scratched it in his car.
Andrew Ellison of CBS affiliate WREG spoke with the state’s newest millionaire about his big win.
