DURHAM, N.C. (AP) – They’re celebrating in Durham after Duke won its fifth national basketball title.
Media outlets report thousands of people watched on Monday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium as the Blue Devils took down Wisconsin 68-63 to claim another NCAA championship.
Then the party moved outside onto campus as students staged a bonfire in the university quad, carrying benches to burn in the fire that flamed dozens of feet into the air.
The Blue Devils ended the season with a record of 35-4.
There will be more celebrating in Durham when the team returns home. The Blue Devils will be back on campus Tuesday afternoon for another celebration at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
