CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW)- Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson announced Thursday that a Myrtle Beach woman will spend 35 years in prison after she was convicted of killing her husband.
The jury deliberated for three hours on Thursday before reaching a decision.
51-year-old Teresa Ann McCracken-Hall shot and killed her husband, 59-year-old Steven Douglass Hall in 2013.
Officers say the couple was drinking alcohol and arguing inside their home in the Arrowhead Community on July 17, 2013 when Teresa McCracken-Hall shot Steven Hall. He died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots between 7 and 7:30 that night, but police weren’t called until 7:30pm on July 18th. Investigators say Teresa McCracken-Hall called her sister to pick her up from her house on July 17th, and she spent the night with her. Officers say evidence showed Steven Hall was dead when Teresa McCracken-Hall left her house, and there were no signs of forced entry found.
Chief Deputy Solicitor Scott Hixson said McCracken-Hall has to serve each day of the 35 years, because with a murder conviction, there is no credit for good behavior or possibility of early parole.
