Myrtle Beach teen accused of raping another teen

A Myrtle Beach teen was charged after reportedly raping and pointing a gun at another teen. 

17-year-old Joshua Allen Hughes was arrested by Horry County police on Tuesday. He is charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct, pointing and presenting firearms at a person, and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. 

A police report says officers were called to a home in Murrells Inlet for a report of criminal sexual conduct on June 8. 

According to the report, the 16-year-old victim told police Hughes picked her up from her home around 9 p.m. on June 6 and drove her to his home, where she was raped. The victim also says three other people were with Hughes, but were driving in a separate vehicle. The victim attempted to leave Hughes’ residence, but the suspects pointed guns at her. The victim was able to contact a friend and leave Hughes’ residence. 

Police have not identified any other suspects.
